Heading into the middle of June, the lengthening days still don’t seem long enough.
Brides, Grads & Dads
Father’s Day’s just around the corner and this year we have a June bride and high school grad to shop for too. Hoping to do some one stop shopping, a trip to Le Roux on Main St. in Vineyard Haven seems to be in order. Wine gadgets for Dad, a paella pan for our well-traveled friends and some cool dorm accessories, knocked three items off the to-do list.
The Spice of Life on MV
I've been on a mission to create a culinary herb window box for my kitchen window since seedlings have made their appearance at the garden centers earlier this spring . It’s been fun sniffing all the selections over the past few weeks. But while everyone has basil, chives and the other culinary standbys, if you want to take a walk on the wild-side herb-wise, check out Eden’s more than ordinary selection. When’s the last time you seasoned your scrambled eggs with chervil? Well, now’s your chance!
Eating Out on Island
Now that we’re on the summer side of Memorial Day holiday, restaurant openings have slowed to a trickle as just about everyone is open and moving into their marathon 7-day a week summer schedules. But it’s still a great time to sneak in a few pre-season specials before the summer really takes off. At The Beach Plum Inn a 3-course, $48 prix fixe Bistro Night will be available Thursdays through June 18.
Bunch of Grapes bookstore fans will be happy to hear that the popular Vineyard Haven shop will be reopening at it’s Main Street location on Saturday June 13th.
See you around town!
