Spring 2010 Arrives March 20 at  5:32 pm
But before the season turns, March brings Martha’s Vineyard one of it’s most anxiously awaited events—the MV Film Festival, hosted once again, in this its 10th year, at the Chilmark Community Center. The Center’s comfy, cozy cinema has become almost iconic, fulfilling perfectly its role as the Festival’s home base.

Surrounded by friends, ensconced in the living-room like setting, Festival-goers can relax while amazing indie films entertain, provoke and stimulate.  Thomas Bena the Festival’s founder always make sure to schedule in lots of Q&A with the Festival’s talented directors, writers and producers. When Spring Arrives Can Summer be Far Behind?!
Visitors aren’t the only one’s dreaming of summer days to come:

For Alexandra Zullo,  at the Harbor View Hotel  “the first thing that comes to my mind is the beach weather!  The long days! Then come thoughts of the Harbor View’s boats... a lazy day on the water and a refreshing dip in the Harbor on a hot summer day.  Or the fireworks, when the hotel seems to be such a focal point for all the family traditions.  How the porch fills up with our guests as the parade goes by and later in the evening when the fireworks go off."

Martha's Vineyard's Restaurant Week, scheduled this year for June  20-24 is what MVOL.com's general Manager Dawn Bellante anticipates: "Restaurant Week is such a great opportunity to preview summer dining choices before the Island gets into high gear...Local produce has started to come in and chefs are eager to showcase new ideas. Adding lunch to the mix not only makes this event more affordable, it ups the fun factor too!"

Musical Mondays at the Fine Art and Flea Market, events that play a big part in Featherstone Center for the Arts' summer buzz, are what the director Francine Kelly looks forward to. This year, the Art of the Ceramic Bowl fundraiser in August has her counting down the days to summer too.
