Mansion House Offers Pre-Race Specials
Martha's Vineyard--The Mansion House is offering special yoga classes, meals and spa treatments geared towards runners and their guests for the 15th Annual Vineyard 20 Miler Road Race being held this year on Saturday, February 18.
Led by Blake Edwards, the pre-race Runner's Yoga Class on Friday at 5:30 pm is designed to help runners loosen up by focusing on breathing methods and relaxation.
For dinner, Zephrus Restaurant offers special pre-race carb-loader dishes along with its regular menu. Guests may end the day at the Health Club's Sauna, Steam Room, Indoor Pool and Hot Tub from 6am to 9pm.
Post race specials include a 20% discount on Massages, Body Treatments and Facials; the discount extends to friends and family of runners. He weekend wraps with a Restorative Runner's Yoga Class on Saturday 5:30pm led by Blake Edwards.

Martha's Vineyard-- Island residents who dine at Water Street restaurant on Tuesday, February 14 may opt to extend their romantic evening with a complimentary overnight stay at the hotel. Advanced reservations are required and the offer is subject to availability. A $25 cleaning fee will be added for overnight guests.
Harbor View Hotel's Valentine's Day dinner is $65/pp, includes a prix fixe menu designed by Executive Chef Shaun Sells, featuring Lobster Bisque, Pepper Bacon-Wrapped Filet and Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee. Tax and tip are not included. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. at Water Street restaurant located in the The Harbor View Hotel 131 North Water Street Edgartown. Poetry--the Language of Love
Martha's Vineyard -- MV Poetry Society announces A Gathering of Island Poets on February 14 from 1-4 pm to be hosted live on MVTV. Island poets will read or sing their poems with accompaniment. The event will recognize not only the significance of February 14 being Valentine's Day, but also being the first day of the "Year of the Water Dragon" in Asian cultures around the world. Polly Hill Arboretum Honored
Martha's Vineyard - West Tisbury's Polly Hill Arboretum has announced its Level IV Accreditation in Morton Arboretum's Register of Arboreta and Accreditation.
The Register, which is maintained by Arbnet, identifies all organizations that collect trees, shrubs, and other woody plants for display and the benefit of conservation, science and public education and enjoyment. Further, it rates those listed at different levels using as its criteria the development, capacity, and professionalism of each organization.
Level IV Accredited Arboreta have met Level I, II, and III and in addition display the ability to participate in arboreal activities of a scientific and conservatory nature.
