A Gingerbread Town with a Colorful History
Long before celebrities and presidents helped put Martha’s Vineyard on the map, the Methodists did a bang-up job of promoting the Island with the spectacle known as the 'campmeeting.' Believers and non-believers were drawn to the colorful event every summer, eventually establishing Oak Bluffs as a resort town.
