Vineyard Voyagers offers the people on Martha's
Vineyard the chance for significant encounters
with the sea--to build knowledge and skills, to develop
confidence, character and cooperation, and to
continue a centuries old seafaring tradition. We offer
ocean sailing expeditions and a rowing program that uses
32'community-built Cornish pilot gigs. Through the
craft of wooden boat construction and the
seamanship learned when sailing or rowing, Vineyard Voyagers
gain experience in the maritime arts and sciences,practice cooperation and
leadership, and benefit from personal challenge.
