Island restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinner do themselves proud. Choices range from traditional turkey and the fixins' to far more eleborate menus.  This year, locally-sourced ingredients from cranberries to the turkey itself are expected to play a bigger role than ever before as Island chefs prepare their Thanksgiving menus. Turkey-to-go is also expected to be popular. Following is a town by town run-down of restaurants open for Thanksgiving on Martha's Vineyard. Check back often new information as plans are finalized.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Edgartown
Chef Michael Brisson celebratesThanksgiving with 4-course dinners ($68-$82) at l'etoile  being served from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Each course offers a number of choices from which diners may choose. Entree items include cider brined roast turkey or chef Brisson's signature Lobster etuvee. 508-627-5187.

The Harbor View Hotel to hosts its annual Thanksgiving Buffet at Water Street restaurant from noon to 8 pm. The $48 prix fixe includes raw bar, cheese platter, carving station with choice of turkey or beef entree, hot & cold appetizers and side dishes and, of course, desserts.restervations can be made by calling 508-627-7000.

Vineyard Haven
Zephrus Restaurant offers its traditional take on Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family from 1-5 pm. This year, Executive Chef Benjamin deForest has planned a delectable 5-course prix fixe gourmet  feast for $42 ($18 kids) available between 1-5 pm. In addition to turkey, NY Strip steak or salmon will be offered as main course options. Please call early to reserve your table at 508-693-3416.

West Tisbury
Dine elegantly this Thanksgiving at Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant. Traditional prix fixe dinner is $75 with braised lamb or bay scallops being offered as two alternatives to turkey. BYOB. 508-693-2298

Dining at Home

Prepare for your 'at-home' holiday with a trip to Shirley's Hardware where you'll find everything from basting brushes to roasitng pans.  Cooking for a crowd?  A single stop at  Vineyard Cash and Carry will save you both time and money.

You can order fresh, all-natural Bell & Evans turkeys at Shiretown Meats in Edgartown...same price as last year: $3.39lb. Sizes from 8-10lb to 30-32 lbs. 508-627-5115.

Morning Glory Farm has you covered with piping hot side dishes fresh from their farm kitchen.  Order your ala carte up until  Wednesday November 23. 508-627-9003.

Tisbury Farm Market  is taking orders for fresh Plainville turkey's which are all-natural, humanely raised, all vegetarian diet, no hormones or antibiotics. 508-693-2223

Scottish Bakehouse is also cooking for Thanksgiving with plenty of organic & vegetarian side dishes, soups, breads, individual entrees and even gluten-free items available. 508-693-6633.

Eat Home Without the Hassle:

Tisbury Farm Market  is also offering fully cooked complete Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner with all the fixings: dinner for 4 with 4 sides (mashed potatoes, holiday stuffing with Cape cranberries, green beans with almonds, and sweet potatoes with honey and dessert (house made pumpkin pie or fruit & cheese plate) is $169;  complete dinner for 8 with 6 sides and two desserts, $249.  Quantities limited  so order early.

Both the Black Dog ( 508-696-8190) and State Road Restaurants  (508-693-8582) are taking orders for holiday dinner which must be made by Nov 21 and Nov 17 respectively. Order ahead and pick up on Thanksgiving Day.
