Perfect for family outings, company cruises, bachelor & birthday parties and special fishing trips, the "Skipper" offers daily trips across Vineyard waters and provides all the fishing gear, bait and friendly assistance you’ll need. It’s a Vineyard “must do activity” and a terrific way to spend time with family, friends, or co-workers.

Enjoy a scenic cruise across Vineyard waters and see the picturesque shoreline from East Chop to Tashmoo. Bring your own cooler with food and the beverages of your choice, relax and party to the music of Jimmy Buffet, Grateful Dead and James Taylor. You never know who will join the party! Celebrity guests onboard have included Sting, and members of  the Kennedy & Onassis families. For kids, it’s a memory-making experience they’ll treasure forever. Captain Potter has seen kids grow up and bring their own families back to catch their first fish on the "Skipper" and create their own special memories. The "Skipper" accommodates groups of up to 40 with all the fishing gear and bait you'll need.

Sunset Cruises
The "Skipper" offers special trips between 6:15pm and 8:15pm for shorter fishing trips or, particularly, just enjoying a scenic cruise across Vineyard waters. The "Skipper's" Sunset Cruises are very popular for family reunions with kids. Everyone can fish and is encouraged to do so. Watch the picturesque shoreline from East Chop to Tashmoo as the sun sets over the Elizabeth Islands. Bring your cooler and beverages of your choice or let us arrange a catered party for a special occasion.

Safety First!
Martha's Vineyard's most popular fishing boat is well known to be seaworthy and comfortable. The "Skipper" is a safe and fully equipped party fishing boat. She is licensed and inspected annually by the Coast Guard. A powerful diesel engine propels her at 10 knots to the fishing grounds. There are two radios and two fathometers to insure your safety.

The "Skipper" has a proven hull design for a smooth, comfortable trip, a clean modern restroom and a creditable reputation so that you are able to relax and enjoy your trip.

About the Crew
USCG Licensed Captain John Potter has been fishing Vineyard and Nantucket Sound for over 29 years. He started as a young boy of 13 and hasn't looked back yet. Captain John has spent summers fishing out of the Vineyard and many winters fishing the U.S. Virgin Islands. "Fishing is in his blood!" as the proverb goes. He has owned "The Skipper" for over 20 years and has been voted "Best Fishing Charter Boat" 20 years in a row.

Captain John Nelson is "The Skipper's" second in command. He is a science teacher during the winter and a fisherman in the summer. Captain John spent his childhood working on party boats on Cape Cod. His many years of experience guarantee you a great catch.

The mates on board the "Skipper" have been here for years. They love helping people catch fish. Many anglers, young and old, have caught their first fish aboard the "Skipper". If you are not an avid fisherman, you are not alone. The Captain and crew will show you how to work their "state of the art tackle" and you will be coming home with dinner. The fish will be cleaned on board (just tip the mate).

Directions
The “Skipper” is moored in the Oak Bluffs Harbor in Slip 74 right near the Island Queen. It's just a short walk from downtown Oak Bluffs via Circuit Avenue Extension. Or coming by motor vehicle, just continue past the SSA ferry terminal on Sea View Avenue Extension to the parking lot on the harbor.
