Fireworks Cruise tickets
Celebrate the arrival of 2008 aboard the  NE Fast Ferry!  The $45 ticket  includes admission Tisbury Ambulance Fireworks cruise and a Last Night First Day button good for events and discounts throughout the weekend. Boat boards at  7:30 pm and sails at 7:45 pm. While on board, enjoy gourmet treats, sweets by Bernadette Cormie, dancing and the best view of the fireworks display over Vineyard Haven harbor. A cash bar will be available. Music by the StingRays. Tickets sell out quickly and are limited in number - contact the Chamber of Commerce to purchase yours today. 508-693-0085.

Rock in the New Year at Outerland
After the fireworks, party-going button-holders can board the free bus waiting at the SSA terminal to take them to Outerland where the good times continue to roll!  Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and DJ Jeff Damon will be on hand to rock the night away and  into the wee hours of  January 1, 2008.  A Last Night First Day button gets a $5 discount on your concert ticket. 

Last Night First Day Buttons
These are your admission to scheduled activities and for discounts at participating local merchants. Buttons are priced at  $10 ($12 after 12/26) ~ Students & Seniors (65+) $8 ( $10 after 12/26)and can be purchased at the following locations: Chamber of Commerce, Martha's Vineyard Online, Bunch of Grapes, Mocha Motts, Alley's General Store, Island Entertainment and all Last Night First Day venues on New Year's Eve.  A Welcome Center, offering buttons, information, and a place to stop and get warm will be open next to the Capawock Theater  from 12 noon on December 31. 

Big Boston Getaway
     Like Alice, you and a friend can slip down the rabbit hole and emerge in downtown Boston for a magical weekend of your own. You may not encounter the March Hare, but you can seek out your own tea party if you win this year’s raffle prize for you and a guest to fly courtesy of Cape Air for an overnight stay in Bean-town. Hotel accommodations at the Courtyard Mariott as well as dinner for the evening are included. Buy your raffle tickets on New Year’s Eve at the Last Night, First Day Welcome Center and venue locations and on the Fireworks Cruise and take a chance to enjoy Boston in style while helping the Tisbury Volunteer Ambulance Association. Tickets are sold in quantities of five for $5.
     The raffle drawing will be held at the end of the CraZy ZaNy Hat Parade at the SSA parking lot on January 1st.  The winner does not have to be present to win. To claim your prize, call the Tisbury Ambulance barn at 508-696-4214.

Monday December 31, 2007

  • 11am-3 pm, Ice Skating: MV Ice Arena; $2 with a button. $3 Skate rentals.

  • 11:30 am, “Disney’s Alice in Wonderland:” The original cartoon ‘Alice’ at the Katharine Cornell Theater: Doors open at 11 am. Children under 10 free when accompanied by an adult with a button; or $2 general admission.

  • 12 noon, The Welcome Center: At the “former Murray’s building” next to the Capawock Theater on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. Come get warm, get your Last Night, First day buttons and more! Rest rooms are available in the town’s Water Street parking lot.

  • 1 pm, lunch or supper with  the Tisbury Firefighters: Baptist Church Hall, William St. Good food  for the whole family at affordable prices.

  • 2-4 pm, Outerland’s "Dance-o-Rama":  At the Hebrew Center. Kids love this chance to show their stuff!  Come boogie with your kids!

  • 3–8 pm, Trains and Trees at Fourway: Fourway Carriage House Building, Franklin Street, Vineyard Haven.  The best kept secret treat of Last Night First Day.  Bring the kids to not just look at, but actually play with a collection of electric trains at this fabulous display. Plus see a 24-foot tree adorned with three thousand lights!

  • 4–7 pm, Island Cove Mini Golf: At Island Cove Mini Golf, State Road, Vineyard Haven. Talk about winter golf! Discounted games with your Last Night, First Day Button. 

  • 5 pm, Island’s Best Acoustic Music Review: Baptist Church (corner of Spring St. and William St.).  Corinne deLangavant joins Don Groover and members of Squash Meadow and Ballyhoo plus Kevin Keady, Joe Keenan, Tristan Israel, Nantucket’s Phil Austin and a perhaps a few surprises for a pickin’ party.

  • 5 pm-5:45 pm,  Vineyard Belly Dance and Review: A great family-friendly show. Get there early for a good seat. At the Katherine Cornell Theatre.

  • 5-6 pm Jim Thomas' Spiritual Choir at the Sali MV Building, Upper Main St.performs traditional spirituals and more.

  • 6-8:30 pmMV Ballroom Dancing Group: Hebrew Center. Learn some new dance steps – Salsa, Tango, Swing, and Texas 2-Step – taught by members of the MV Ballroom Dancing Group.

  • 6 pm-6:45 pm, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish: The early show. At the Katherine Cornell Theatre.

  • 6-7 pm, Kahoots:  Sail MV, Main Street, Vineyard Haven (across from Owen Park). Come hear one of the Island's hottest local bands.

  • 6 pm to 1 am, Breakfast served at the Art Cliff Diner. Portion of the proceeds benefits the Tisbury Ambulance Association.

  • 7 pm-7:45 pm, Impact: Young persons comedy improv. At the Katherine Cornell Theatre.

  • 7 pm, “Pirates of the Caribbean:” Capawock Theater, Main Street, Vineyard Haven.   The first, and arguably the best, of the “Pirates” series.  Enjoy it again!  Button holders admitted free, $5 general admission.

  • 7 - 8:45 pm, Maynard Silva & Friends:  Sail MV, Main Street, Vineyard Haven (across from Owen Park). This venue and performance turned out to be the hottest of last year. Cool blues and hot rock, living room style. It’s neat!

  • 7:30 pm,  New England Fast Ferry boards at the SSA dock for 7:45 departure. Enjoy gourmet treats, sweets by Bernadette Cormie, dancing and the best view of the fireworks display over Vineyard Haven harbor. A cash bar will be available. Music by the StingRays. Tickets for Fireworks Cruise are $45.

  • 8 pm-8:45 pm, Impers: This teen comedy improv show is one of our biggest and best! At the Katherine Cornell Theatre.

  • 9 pm, New Year’s Eve Fireworks over Vineyard Haven Harbor.  (Thank you so much Ernie Boch Jr and family) Please note the rain date is same time New Years Night. The Fireworks. Just after 9 pm, over Vineyard Haven Harbor. (Rain date New Year’s night.)
  • 9:45, Outerland and the Tisbury Ambulance have joined together to help cap off your New Years Eve in fine style.  Celebrants in Tisbury can board a free bus departing the SSA after the fireworks traveling directly to Outerland where DJ Jeff Damon will spin records and Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish will rock the night away until 2 am.  You’ll get a $5 discount on your Outerland concert ticket with a Last Night First Day button. 


January 1, 2008

  • 12 noon, Join the CraZy ZaNy Hat Parade on New Year’s Day when children and adults make and wear their own personally decorated toppers for an opportunity to win great prizes.  Decorating for children begins at the Ambulance Barn at noon and Coco the Clown will lead the parade departing from the Town’s parking lot at the Stop and Shop at 1PM ending at the SSA.

Raffle Drawing:  Win a free get-away to Boston including roundtrip airfare on Cape Air, dinner, and overnight stay in Boston. Tickets sold at all venues on New Year’s Eve – 5 for $5.  Winner will be drawn at the CraZy zANy Hat Parade and does not have to be present to win.
