Santa -- Alive & Well at the Red Stocking Fund
The Island’s Red Stocking Fund is as close to a ‘real’ Santa as you’re ever going to get! The organization plays Santa to about 300 children and their families annually, providing food, clothing and toys for the holiday. Applications are anonymous & carefully screened. To donate new clothing or toys call 508-693- 2324 or 508-693-0725. Checks may be mailed to: PO Box 74, VH, MA 02568.
Let your Light Shine on the MV Hospital Auxiliary's Tree of Lights
The Martha's Vineyard Hospital Auxiliary's Tree of Lights greets all who approach the harbor with its welcoming glow of red and white lights, each donated by an individual in honor or in memory of a loved one. Donations support the Hospital in front of which it stands.
This year, MV Hospital will celebrate the 28th anniversary of this event with a new twist: multiple trees will be lit outside around the new Hospital campus with hundreds of lights. For a $25 contribution one light will be lit on a tree for this season; for a $100 contribution place 5 lights for this season. Join them for the tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday, December 14th.
